Spring in western Pennsylvania...
When 50 F feels like 80 F (then it's actually 80 degrees) and the next day it snows. Anyone else having massive fluctuations in weather?
Honestly, it feels a bit disorienting and I wonder how it feels for the seeds and little plants in the ground. They actually seem to be moving right along… I’m constantly in awe of their resiliency.
Peas climbing quickly, Daffodils fully open, Tulips plumping with color, Ranunculus busting through the soil... I'm still taking extra care though, to harden off seedlings I started indoors and prep them for the outdoor elements, and to cover the little Snapdragons for the (last?) 28 F chill.
Speaking of seedlings... would you like some for your garden, pots or planters? I’d love to share, and I’ve curated a collection for you.
Grown here from seed at Forest & Flowers Retreat, you’ll receive a mix of 20 specialty cut flowers and herbs (perennial, annual, and biennial) to fill your garden, pots, or planters with beauty all season!
Flower and herb seedlings in the collection (ready for pick-up in late May):
Dahlia flowered Zinnia mix of yellows, roses, scarlet, green, orange, pink, red, purple, and coral
Celosia in a brightly colored mix
Cosmos mix of unique double blooms in shades of carmine, pink, and white
Herbs: Sage, Lemon Balm and 2 varieties of Basil (Lemon and Aromatto with purple-green bicolor foliage... Gorgeous as a bouquet filler or edible in so many ways)
Foxglove (biennial) in white and blush tones
Yarrow (perennial) in summer pastel colors
Imagine stepping out your door this summer with your coffee or matcha to an array of fragrant and colorful blooms, snipping a few herb leaves for your salad, and having bouquets on your table all season, with plenty of blooms to share with friends. Great for pollinators too!

You can also book a private experience at Forest & Flowers Retreat for your group, order a DIY bucket of flowers for your special event, help us donate flowers to local nursing homes through the Pretty Petals Program, or come for “hours in the flowers” to immerse yourself in nature and flowers. Sounds like the perfect girls outing or date night to me.
