I’m sitting in the sun on a fallen tree. It’s November and I’m noticing the aroma of dry leaves mixed with morning dew glistening on gold, as the sun lights up the forest floor.
An earthy tobacco smell collects my thoughts, and a sharp coolness dances across my skin. Grounding, ancient, remembering.
What alchemy awaits inside of me?
Look beyond what you think you see and know.
Deepen your inhale to sense what lingers in your field.
Find what’s been there all along, hidden from sight and sound.
Expand your senses and listening in the darkness when you can’t see clearly.
Call with your voice to hear more deeply.
What listening awaits inside of me?
As our eyes open at dawn, may they know every shade of oak, maple, tulip, hickory, walnut, and sassafras leaf beyond words.
As the dry, hard soil receives the rain it has longed for, may we also receive and rest in the nourishment water brings.
As we go inward, may we feel our connection and belonging, our kinship. We are all here.
What renewal awaits inside of me?
May our presence ripple out like water, touch one another like the wind, awaken us like the low light on the horizon, and may our presence hold each leaf with wonder as it settles on the sacred patch of earth beneath our feet.
